This dollar from the Cook Islands depicts the world famous skyline of Sydney.
Part of the Skyline Dollars collection, the intricately illustrated note brings to life the instantly recognisable skyline of Sydney, the most populated city in Australia, which sprawls around the world’s largest harbour. One of Sydney’s landmarks, the head of the AMP Tower, more recently known as Tower Eye, is presented in the foreground of the scene in black and white. This iconic tower stands at more than 300 metres above the city’s skyline and is renowned for its spectacular panoramic views of the city and Australia’s east coast.
Each note in the Skyline Dollar collection is issued by the Cook Islands and has the face value of one dollar. The first five installments of this collection feature a selection of some of the most prominent cities around the world and are tastefully embellished with exceptional guilloche patterns, making them a refined numismatic collectible sure to appeal to the most distinguished collector. The notes are made from flexible and incredibly thin silver sheets, with less than a 0.045mm thickness and each individually laminated note is delivered with a certificate of authenticity.
